Utopia finds its audience

Utopia, the 2019 short written and directed by Kosta Nikas, premiered online with Omeleto in March 2021. By then it had already won the jury prize for best international narrative short at the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival and best comedy at Toronto Shorts.

The film follows a man who returns to Australia and finds a society in which people report one another by phone. It also screened at the Athens International Film Festival and was invited to Utopiales.

A feature screenplay inspired by that world is in development.
